In this instance we will assume that you already have an area that you want to place a stand.  Now you need to position the stand to accommodate the best available spot. There are many variables to think of.  In the following article I will explain how I go about accounting for each variable while keeping them in order of importance.

WIND DIRECTION

Wind direction is the most important variable to account for. Not only the best wind direction for the stand, but also how it plays into the role of getting into and out of your stand. A stand can stay very productive for a long time if hunted with this in mind.

If this area is a food plot, you should hang stands for different wind directions. I even do this for good crossings as well. Knowing the predominant wind in your area will help when hanging a single stand.

Whitetail Fraternity Team 2012 Turkey Season Wrap-Up

Well it took almost everyday of the three week season to get it done, but the Pro Staff managed to fill all tags. Mine coming on the last Saturday but weighing in at 21 1/2 lbs., 10 inch beard, and 1 5/8 inch spurs. Never give up, and good things will happen. Video outtake coming soon.
